Get Ready for Your First Facial Visit to Universal Glow
We’re so excited to have you! Here are a few tips on how to prepare and make the most out of your first facial treatment at our spa.
Arrive a bit early for paperwork and your free skin consultation.
By taking the time to arrive early (15 to 30 minutes prior at the very least), you can fill out the required medical questionnaire. Or you can download it now and complete it beforehand:
Also, depending on the treatment, arriving early allows time for your consultation, so our trained esthetician can best identify your skincare needs and customize your treatment. Once we decide on the treatment for your skin type, we will proceed with the treatment. If you have any questions along the way, please feel free to ask!
Finally, you’ll also need time to change, and I will provide you with a robe if needed.
Should you wash your face and remove any makeup or product before your treatment?
No! No need to have a clean face prior to your facial — let us do all the work!
Be sure our treatments don’t conflict with any medication your taking.
If you are on medication, depending on the medication, we suggest checking in with your doctor to see if you're safe to get treatments done. For example:
Accutane (oral or topical) You must be off of this medication for at least three weeks.
Antibiotics, for both waxing and facial, you must be off for at least one week — unless you have a note from your doctor to say it’s okay to do treatments.
Blood thinners should be checked out with your doctor.
Will you need to get naked for your treatment?
That’s up to you! You can get undress to your level of comfort. (We recommend that you get REALLY comfortable and relaxed.) We will be working from the décolleté up for facials. If you prefer to keep your under layers on, we suggest tucking bra/tank top straps in. We also recommend taking off all your jewelry.
What about after-care for your facial?
After most treatment, we highly recommend you do not do strenuous exercise. Please don’t exfoliate for the next 2–3 days (depending on the treatment). And finally, sunlight after your treatment, and wear SPF all day every day! Don’t worry, we’ll walk you through and specific post-treatment needs.
