Hi! I'm Channa, the spa owner and skin care guru.
Besides being a mom, being an esthetician is my true and ultimate passion. I cannot imagine having any other career, especially one as rewarding as this one.
Whether I am waxing or doing a facial treatment for someone after a long day, I am always rewarded by the fact that I can make a difference in others' lives—giving people even more confidence by helping them have healthier, beautiful skin.
It has always been my dream to own my own spa. At an early age, I remember my mom not wanting me to use products on my face, but I would sneak around and buy my own products. Although, I would not know how different products work. So I would teach myself by researching. I remember loving the smells of lotion and perfume and experimenting with makeup.
After high school, I attended community college for two years, and I did not know what I wanted to do. I took a break from college and worked for a year or two and decided that I should go back to school.
In the middle of my school year, it finally dawned on me what my true passion was: helping people of all backgrounds and ethnicities have skin that they love being in.
I attended Gary Manuel Aveda Institute and received my certification in 2016. By working in other spas and experimenting with other products, I was able to take what I discovered (how to run a business, product knowledge, how to sell) and turn my dream into a reality.
But I didn’t want to be just another spa! Being an ethnic person, I understand how hard it can be to find products that work for my skin, so I have made that challenge part of the unique mission at Universal Glow (and I was thrilled when I found the amazing products we use!). We are all unique—down to our skin care needs! That is what I love about this path I’ve taken. Thank you for being a part of my journey and letting me be a part of yours.
